Despite the autumnal weather, there were many highlights at the Wydehof Arena in Birr, Aargau, on Sunday, September 28th. The grand final of the Kleiner Prix Walo (Small Prix Walo) took place for the 19th time, bringing together the best young talents from the preliminary rounds.

Monika Kaelin, President of the Show Szene Schweiz (SSS) association, hosted the event alongside longtime hosts Sepp Trütsch and Wolfgang Kucher, as well as rapper L.A.B, and vocal experts Marie Louise Werth and Bo Katzman.

The final afternoon featured 15 acts—including groups, soloists, and ensembles. The winners in the categories of Pop/Rock, Vocals, Folk Music, Yodeling, and Hip Hop earned a performance slot at the 50th Prix Walo Gala on May 2, 2026.

The winner of the Kleiner Prix Walo in the Hip-Hop category was Lawren The III from Dübendorf. Born in Angola and living in Switzerland since 2003, Lawren is a self-made man: a hip-hop artist, singer-songwriter, and producer.

His winning song, "M8th (outside)," out of his EP Mama,... I was really outside. is about an incident that occurred on May 8th 2021. By performing this song, Lawren (whose real name is Garcia Antonio Lourenco) processes personal experiences. The "III" in his stage name refers to the third try by his parents of having a child after the birth of his older sister.
